The why
I started Quefly to build the infrastructure I wished existed when I was operating engineering teams — identity that you don’t have to babysit, memory that doesn’t disappear when the chat ends, and a stack you can actually read.
We’re bootstrapped on purpose. No investor tells us to ship faster or pivot to whatever’s trending. We ship when it’s ready. We price it fairly. And we open-source the parts that belong to the commons.

How we work
Four rules. No exceptions.
No investors, no roadmap pressure
Bootstrapped by design. We ship when the work is right and hold it back when it is not. The only stakeholders are users.
Right tool, every time
Go for service infra, eBPF for the kernel path, Python for memex, Svelte for UI, TypeScript where types help. We pick the language that fits, not the comfortable one.
Built from protocol specs
OIDC, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, MCP — re-implemented from RFCs. No SDKs of SDKs. The trade-off is more code; the payoff is full control over correctness.
Provenance over speed
Every decision in our code carries a why. Every external resource we touch is tagged managed-by=authfi. Auditability is not a feature; it is a default.
